|
|
| Decided to change from old faithful TT to the new low smoke synthetic version. The holes in the pipes are now pi***n oil over the garage floor and all over themselves. Never was like this with the old oil. Anybody had the same experience. Can't keep the pipes clean and refuse to park in Portstewart unless Suzi is gleamin! |

| It's been a year almost since I posted my oil problem. Castrol TT seems to have vanished. What 2 stroke oil does everyone use these days? |

picked this gem of info, from the kettle club yahoo chat site
Going off subject now, a few weeks ago we were discussing 2 stroke oil. Now, ASDA do Carlube 2 stroke (red) in litre bottles, so i gave one to a mate who works at Fawley oil refinery laboratory to give me a breakdown of whats in it. He came back and said it`s almost the same ingredients as Castrol but a bloody site cheaper!! the only difference being theres an extra detergent which makes it thinner, but assures me it wont hurt her, so i put some in mine about two weeks ago and shes running fine
castrol tt, is now called actevo or something like that, can still get it here, just rebranded the car shop man said.
he phoned up the main office to check for me. _________________ the toe you are standing on to day, could be the foot that is stuck ####tomorrow |

| Thanks Shiner, might try the Carlube tip. Filled the bike with that Actevo stuff. Smoked like hell the whole way to the Vintage cavalcade. So embarrassing to see the blue haze in the mirrors, and god help the boys riding behind me. The bike stalled on me in the pits. Couldn't hear it because of the din of superbikes and scooters. Hey, where were all the vintage japs this year. I had to park on the grass yet the road was full of modern bikes. Might be my last year of that crap! |

Rusty Bike, you have got a two stroke, and they do/should make some smoke mate. even a Suzuki will do that...get out there and burn some oil man....enjoy
However make sure that your bike is set up properly, i.e. jets, needles float level. oil feed. etc., etc
And by the way if it stops smokin it'll probably soon stop runnin M8 |
